چکیده
This study examines the potential of poly(lactic-co-glycolic acid) (PLGA) nanoparticles functionalized with poly(zwitterion)-mannose brushes to target macrophages. Uptake studies RAW 264.7 macrophages indicate that multiple mannose-binding sites in grafted facilitate interaction mannose receptor macrophages, resulting approximately four times higher cellular uptake than monolayer coatings. To test feasibility as long-circulating drug delivery vehicles, their multicomponent aggregation blood plasma is analyzed using nanoparticle tracking analysis and compared poly(ethylene glycol)-coated (PEGylated) particles, which are known reduce aggregation. There no significant difference behavior particles PEGylated control (≈760 aggregates per 105 particles). In addition, particle size compared, includes protein corona, after 0, 8, 15 h. Whereas there at longer time scales, overall brush-grafted ≈130 nm smaller shorter suggesting a corona. All these results suggest acid brush grafts may be excellent candidates for targeted

Objective: To examine the therapeutic activity of hydrophilic glucocorticoid encapsulated in PLGA nanoparticles, which have shown slow release and are targeted to inflamed joints after intravenous administration, in experimental arthritis models. Methods: Betamethasone sodium phosphate (BSP) encapsulated in PLGA nanoparticles with a size of 100–200 nm (PLGA-nanosteroid) was prepared using a mod...

Colorectal cancer is the fourth most frequently diagnosed cancer and the second leading cause of cancer death. About 96,830 new cases of colon cancer and approximately 40,000 cases of rectal cancer will occur and 50,310 people will die of colon and rectal cancer combined[1]. The long term survival rate of colon cancer patients treated by conventional modalities such as surgery, radiation, and c...
متن کاملLymphatic biodistribution of polylactide nanoparticles.
Tumor metastases occur through both the cardiovascular and lymphatic circulations. However, the majority of nanoparticle biodistribution studies have been focused on the cardiovascular circulation. In this study, we report the formulation of Cy5-labeled polylactide (Cy5-PLA) nanoparticles with controlled size and surface features and the subsequent evaluation of their lymphatic biodistribution....

متن کاملPolysaccharide-decorated nanoparticles.
Surface modified colloidal carriers such as nanoparticles are able to modulate the biodistribution of the loaded drug when given intravenously, but also to control the absorption of drugs administered by other routes. This review presents the different strategies to coat the surface of polymeric as well as inorganic nanoparticles with polysaccharides. Various physicochemical and biological meth...
